A safe space for teens. Dobrodiy Club opens a “Power & Support place” in Kyiv
The Dobrodiy Club opened “Place of Power” in Kyiv, a free space for supporting, restoring and developing the resilience of teenagers affected by the war.
The Foundation’s research “Teenagers and Their Lives in War”, found that only a quarter of teenagers consider themselves to be self-supporting, while 83% want to know more about how they can support themselves in difficult times. In addition, 42% of respondents said they lack space for informal communication with peers.
“Place of Power” from the Dobrodiy Club is a 3-story space with an equipped shelter for teenagers aged 10-17 who are staying in Kyiv and the nearest suburbs. The location includes a lecture and training space, an art zone “Creativity is the antidote to stress”, a therapy room “Adults are not allowed” and a room of trust – four unique spaces where teenagers can learn more about themselves, share their emotions sincerely and boost their life skills to face challenges today.
You can learn more about each of the spaces and register for classes on the website of the space.
It is important for us that the “Place of Power” becomes a safe, creative, and most importantly, a comfortable space for teenagers. This project was possible thanks to the powerful work of the team and the support of partners. However, now we have a challenge — to ensure the high-quality functioning of the space for thousands of children per year. Become an ambassador of “Place of Power” by making a monthly charitable contribution, which we convert into effective support, comments Maria Todorchuk, the founder and head of the “Dobrodiy Club”.
